Brian is a principal, creative director, designer, visual storyteller, educator and maker.

He works with client leadership and project stakeholders while collaborating with a group of creative partners to make brand identities and identity systems, architectural sign and wayfinding programs, donor recognition and corporate displays, print media, books, packaging graphics and websites for corporations, healthcare systems, professional firms, non-profit organizations, cultural and educational institutions… Brian is noted for his strategic thinking, creativity, and process-driven execution—resulting in strong, connected visual communications and experiences.

Prior to founding B. A. Castle Design, Brian gained experience and was mentored at some of the top design firms in Detroit and metro area. He held the position of Senior Designer at Herman Design Group—focusing on brand identity, identity standards, and print media, and Senior Associate at nationally-recognized, multidisciplinary design firm Ford & Earl Associates—focusing on brand identity, identity standards, display and exhibit design, architectural signage and wayfinding programs, print media, and packaging.

Brian was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan and graduated with a BFA, Graphic Design from Western Michigan University (Kalamazoo, MI) in 1989.
